Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva will visit Argentina on January 23 to attend a summit of leaders of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac) in Buenos Aires on January 24, an Argentine government spokesman confirmed on Tuesday. It is understood that a number of leaders from the same region will attend.

In a radio interview, the spokesman confirmed that Lula will come to Argentina on January 23 for a summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States.

«Brazil is a leader in the Latin American region and the Argentine people all have a special relationship with Lula,» she said.

Fifteen leaders are expected to attend the summit in Argentina.
